It’s the hardest question I’ve every heard @charliegilkey ask anyone:

“What if it was easy?”

I think the purpose of the question is to get ourselves out of our own way when we’re trying to accomplish something.

Unfortunately, I have a tendency to think I’m being efficient and focused when in fact — I’m not.

Why is simplicity so complicated?

Spoiler: it’s not. It’s just drawn that way.

Maybe you’ve heard some of these in your own internal monologue:

  • Social pressure: “Keep up!
  • Internal pressure: “Do more!
  • The New Shiny: “Makes Everything Easier!
  • Capitalism: “Gotta have it!

Add in the voice saying “stop whining — compared to the rest of the world, you’re on easy mode in the game of life!
