I love being in the flow of writing.
When the idea is right and it’s something I really care about, I don’t even feel my fingers. It’s just a straight shot from my brain to the screen, the words appearing as if by magic line after line.
Then at some point I’ll realize this is related to something I’ve written before, and I’ll get that giddy joy of knowing that somewhere on the web there’s another thousand or so words that will deepen the concept, illustrate the idea, bring the reader further into the story I’m weaving.
Except: now I have to find it.
Tedium is the enemy of flow.
I’ve got close to 900 articles on this site. Not all of them are gems, of course, but there are a few that stand out. While it’s easy enough to embed another article in my writing, finding that particular URL in the long list of stories takes a while.
