I was chuckling all through the article, at how goddamn familiar it all sounded. Yesterday my hyperfocus was (luckily) focused on my day job...but I remember distinctly starting a "focus block" of 1 hour. Two hours later I saw that I only had 10 minutes to prep for a meeting...but surely I could squeeze in one more 5 minute task.
I was five minutes late to the meeting.
Luckily, I have understanding coworkers and boss. But yeah, it's like a power drill that you can't control whether it's on or off: great for some jobs, and really messing up everything else...
