iPad Hand-Writing App Showdown
Forget notes, can you write articles by hand? And should you?
At the recent Second Brain Summit, Matthew Gilbertson gave a strong argument presenting research that shows writing with digital ink is better for your brain and your creativity.
I’ve already been wanting to do more writing by hand, so perhaps this was a sign from the universe? Perhaps I could even write my daily articles that way?
After all, I certainly enjoy writing by hand, and if I could get the benefit of both using the pen and not having to type everything up after writing, that seemed like a win.
The biggest requirement was going to be ease of use. If I had to jump through a lot of technological hoops to get my digital handwriting published on the web, this was not going to be a worthwhile change.
Which writing app to use?
I’m a bit embarrassed by how many I have to choose from on my iPad. The list of ink-to-text-capable apps, without downloading anything new, already consists of:
- Microsoft OneNote
- Apple Notes
- Notability
- GoodNotes
- Nebo
