Shaunta, long time reader, first time commenter. Your posts are part of what have been keeping me writing here, and I’m hoping (fingers crossed) to hit my first three-digit paycheck in November.
My question is about that “second account”: does it need to be a member account, or would a free one work? I have the ability to write extensively about a subject (alternative relationship models) that does not fit within my current account (well, not without an extensive reboot). But I DO have another account already, a free one, where I can (and have) written already on that subject.
My choices, as I see them, are:
A) Keep my member account, writing about personal development, as the “pro” account and follow your suggestion to make the “alt” account my other one (non-pro). Downside to this is: one, diluting my presence, two, possibly not getting the attention because it’s not a paid account.
B) Just go all-in and start writing about the “alt” stuff in this, my “pro” account. Which would likely alienate some of my followers but might also gain new ones. Upside: I would feel more authentic in my ability to write what are basically “heart” posts, but might be shut out of some of the more professional publications.
C) Have two separate “pro” accounts, trying to manage (and create content) and build both. This would be a lot more work, and likely be more slow, but would be (from what I can see) the conservative and “safer” way to go.
Any thoughts you have would be appreciated, and also saying “Hey, dude, I get paid for advice like this, you need to send me $$ before asking!” is understandable. As I said, I appreciate that you have done all this work, and will keep on reading!
