The Loss of My Home Didn’t Really Hit Me Until I Said Goodbye to My Favorite Chair
And my hometown welcomed me back in an unexpected way
This Friday, the first home I ever bought will become the first home I ever sold.
Don’t congratulate me; I’m not a “flipper”, I had intended on living in that house with my partner for the rest of my life.
Life had other plans, though, so at the time of this writing, most of our belongings are packed in boxes an hour and a half away, waiting for movers to bring them down here on Thursday.
Unfortunately, “down here” is still a bit uncertain. Finding a house is proving to be much more difficult than selling a house, and even finding an apartment is a lot more complicated than I remember it being last time I rented in this town.
